I want more!

I downloaded this book for my Kindle. I love to read about Egyptian history, fact or fiction. I have had several opportunities to visit Egypt and see the temples and tombs so I can easily fit the story in my memories. But Ms.Dray does a wonderful job of setting the scene and the storyline in the PRINCESS OF EGYPT MUST DIE, that I was in the book immediately. Ms. Dray does not just take a snippet of a historical situation and write a novel or novella like this book. She researches the details to make sure she is accurate and correct to the best of our current knowledge of ancient Egyptians. While I was reading I could feel myself in the mind and feelings of Arsinoe and when the book was over, I was left feeling like I had a sip of cool karkady after a trek around the Giza Plateau and I wanted the whole pitcher. There are 300 wonderful years of the Ptolemies before the final Cleopatra so Ms Dray has plenty of history to draw on for more short stories and or the multi-part historical novel. I just downloaded Song of the Nile and Lily of the Nile to read on my new Kindle Fire!

Superficial

I was expecting a far more in depth look at the life of Princess Arsinoe. This could have been about any fictional character in history.
It was my own fault entirely for not looking at the length of the book (something I am usually fastidious about because I prefer a lengthy novel I can sink my teeth into than a short story), so I will accept the blame for that one, but I was completely taken aback when it ended. I felt the story was only just beginning.

misleading

The description of this book sounds great, and as a while, the story line was interesting, the character identities were created well, and the plot kept my attention. I was however confused by the abrupt end, with no completion of story line. I was left wondering if I only got an excerpt of the story or if there was a book 2. I kept thinking..."where's the rest?" . when I looked up her other books they seemed disconnected and unrelated. If the book had an ending it'd be worth a read, but becasue of being left hanging, I wouldn't recommend her stories.
